Ash to Lead started from two stories that refused to stay broken.
Mine and my dog Phoenix’s.
Phoenix came from Serbia to Germany. He’d been sold online, passed around, and given up after biting his second owner over a toy. He wasn’t “damaged” - he was scared, and nobody had given him a reason to trust. I adopted him because I knew what it felt like to need a second chance.
I was born in Cuba, raised in the USA, started over in Tenerife for 4 years, and started over again here in Germany. Every move came with loss, and out of every loss, came beauty with the chance to build something stronger from the ashes.
That’s where the name comes from. Ash to Lead means beauty coming out of ashes. It’s about the ache that forces you to start over, and the choice to turn that into something solid, useful, and real. For us, that’s handmade dog leashes and accessories built for dogs and the humans who refuse to give up on them.
Every leash we make is meant to last. Strong enough for the walks where you’re both figuring it out. Clean enough for the coffee runs where he’s finally calm by your side. Beautiful enough to remind you of how far you both have come. Because the gear you use every day should remind you: you don’t have to stay in the ashes.
This is for the dogs who got a second chance.
This is for the humans who gave it to them.
This is Ash to Lead.
